M&M Graphing

Materials:
- Graph paper (1” square)
- Snack size bag of M&Ms®
- Crayons

Give each child a sheet of graph paper (approximately one-inch squares) and a snack size bag of M*M® candies. Have each child sort his candies by color on his graph paper (horizontally). Then, using a corresponding crayon color, have them color one square for each candy of that color. Encourage each child to write the total number of each color on his graph at the end of the bar. Then challenge each child to add the total number of candies.
